Palatia

During the Hellenistic era theater functioned in Location of “Palatia” (Palaces) and  two temples in the same area from which one was dedicated to Demeter and the other unknown to what deity. Of this period is also the headless statue of the Muse Clio found in the sanctuary of the temple of Demeter at “Palatia” (Palaces) and now exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Kos. At the same area also found the Colosseum Head of  Hercules which is a version of  the project Aisippou. Discovered on 12/9/1947 and is also in Kos Museum.

Κατά την Ελληνιστική εποχή λειτούργησε το θέατρο στη θέ­ση Παλάτια και δύο ναοί στην ίδια περιοχή από τους οποί­ους ο μεν ένας ήταν αφιερωμένος στη Δήμητρα ο δε άλλος άγνωστο σε ποια θεότητα. Της αυτής περιόδου είναι επίσης και το ακέφαλο άγαλμα της Μούσας Κλειώς που βρέθηκε στο ιερό του ναού της Δήμητρας στα Παλάτια και τώ­ρα εκτίθεται στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο της Κω. Βρέθηκε επίσης το Κολοσσιαίο Κεφάλι του Ηρακλή που α­ποτελεί παραλλαγή έργου του Αισίππου. Ανακαλύφτηκε στις 12/9/1947 και βρίσκεται και αυτό στο Μουσείο Κω.
