NISYROS The volcanic experience!!!!

Your boat will leave at 9:30 from the tiny port of Kefalos, heading directly to Nisyros island. The cruise takes about 1 hour 10 minutes and you will disembark οn the port of Mandraki, the capital of the beautiful volcanic island Nisyros.

Directly from the port you will go by bus to the
volcano, exactly to the caldera of  Stefano
and there you will have the unique oportunity to go down to the bottom of
dormant volcano. You will smell sulphur everywhere and also you can see boiling
mud and yellow sulphur crystals on many minerals. The bus ride takes about
20  minutes and free time in caldera is
40-45 minutes.

After the visit of the caldera youwill return
back to the port of Mandraki a lovely town which iswaiting for you, to enjoy it
with all your senses. Just taste typical soumada syrup made from almonds, or
canelada syrup made of cinnamon and very unusual tomato marmelade.

Walk through many twisted narrow streets
decorated with stone mosaics up to the Monastery of Virgin Mary of the Cave.
You have to climb up 150 steps, but the bonus is breathtaking it‘s a  wonderful view on the roofs of Mandraki,
nearby islands and thevolcanic mountains.Afterwards you will be able to rest in
a typical restaurant either on the main square under huge ficus tree or by the
sea and enjoy your lunch.

The boat leaves Nisyros at 15:30, so you get
back to Kefalos around 16:45
